SINFONIETTA CONCERTO COMPETITION
For the best performance of a solo work with orchestra
The purpose of the competition:
- To contribute to the professional development of young Canadian musicians under the age of 19
- To provide young musicians with the unique opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra at the Gala Concert
Toronto Sinfonietta's Concerto Competition is an annual event. After the applications are accepted, the candidates are invited for auditions. The Competition culminates with a Gala Concert of the winners who perform solo concertos with Toronto Sinfonietta.
Toronto Sinfonietta's President Vera Mraz is the chair of the organizing committee. Orchestra's music director Matthew Jaskiewicz is the chairman of the Jury. The Jury of the Competition consist of prominent Toronto musicians, educators and leading members of Toronto Sinfonietta.
