Fantasia on Christmas Carols, which is Ralph Vaughan Williams' reworking of a
number of old English Christmas carols, has been a seasonal favourite ever since it was
first performed in 1912.
John Rutter's dramatic Gloria continues the long history of English sacred music in a
style that is both contemporary and traditional.
Gustav Holst's St. Paul’s Suite for Strings was written for the students of St.Paul's Girls'
School where Holst was Director of Music.
